We should not have to pay one penny more for our taxes unless we know how the government is spending the rest.

I will improve Alameda County services and safeguard County assets by conducting and posting evaluations and performance audits on the website for the first time in the history of the office.

I will be an independent watchdog on your behalf. I will bring a fresh perspective to the old way of doing business in the current county administration.

My office will conduct audits of Alameda County government services publish the results for your review. I have a plan for auditing each department including your Alameda County social services agency, public works, sheriff, human resources, probation and alameda health system.

My office will promote financial best practices among City departments

I will expand training and professional development for financial staff while committing to recruit and diversify leadership positions in the department.

Transparency

Under my leadership, the 1.6 million residents in Alameda County will know how their government is doing. I will not just send you a bill, but I will ensure we are keeping our promises on what we said we will do with the money. You will be able to see how your government is spending money in regular communication mediums.

I will not only protect public records as clerk-recorder, but will make sure that information is readily and promptly available to the public, not like the current administration.

My office will provide frequent and user-friendly information about the county finances. This will help us to quickly recover in the event of a recession or a natural disaster. Timely identification of problems or weaknesses and quick corrective action can help reduce the cost of any required periodic financial, regulatory, and operational reviews to a reasonable level.

Simplify doing business.

Under my leadership, I will streamline operations externally and internally.

I will increase leadership in business registration to address the needs of all of Alameda County’s residents. It’s not enough to just have a desk in a government building to grow business in Alameda County. I will conduct outreach to all groups in Alameda County to grow businesses for our children, neighbors, and friends for generations to come. We need smart business growth to keep up with the amazing, talented individuals in Alameda County.

I will advance technology in Alameda County by modernizing our systems and conducting rigorous analyses and research to detect compliance and risk issues. I will work with all people to ensure our processes and systems can work together to support efficient and effective operations.
